This variety features a luminous orange-peach bloom with the soft glow of a summer sunset. The striking color stands out in the field and draws consistent admiration. An excellent choice for cutting, it produces long-lasting stems and continues flowering through frost. Plants reach approximately 3 feet in height and benefit from support. Deer resistant.

There aren't many open pollinated snapdragons available - but Orange Wonder is one of them. It has a more dainty and airy feel to its structure (similar to the flower placement on the stems of the Chantilly Series ) which makes it more interesting in designs. It's better for adding line shapes to your designs rather than the bulk blocks of color that hybridized varieties provide.

Of note, most varieties available on the market are hybridized and bred for uniformity in bloom time, height, and bloom size/shape which is important for crop planning and harvest efficiency. This means all the flowers bloom at the same time - great for farms who have big sales outlets but not so great for someone hoping for a longer bloom window. Orange Wonder blooms over several weeks in warmer climates and throughout the summer here in zone 5a. Orange is my favorite color for snapdragons so I'm glad that there is an open pollinated version!
